introduction to explorations-Stated from Brief
This module will take you through a series of mini projects which will allow you to explore objects and environments from an individual sensory standpoint. The objective is for you to experience your environment and the things within it anew. You will record, document, map and communicate a meaningful response to your findings through a variety of media, including sketchbook drawings, 3D models and collages, and photography. At various points, you will have the opportunity for in depth discussion, and to present your work to your tutors, and peer group. Any unfinished work will need to be completed in your own time.

- explore your new surroundings
- improve observational skills
- use an environment as a source for new ideas
- interpret non-visual factors into a visual construct or drawing
- interpret 3D space as a 2D drawing
- use a 2D drawing to generate a 3D form
- improve sketching skills and techniques
- understand what the word ‘sketch’ means
- discover ways to overcome the dilemma of the blank canvas
Through the module you will also receive tuition in the Adobe Creative Suite. This will cover introductions too Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and Acrobat. The sessions will be held on Tuesday mornings and will be delivered online.
